This project focused on program and parti. By taking an already existing building at Woodbury University and adding new design and mass, I came up with new space to place the given programs of a student center.

Goals are to: 1. Develop a revised massing strategy based on feedback received from the previous reviews. 2. Study your massing in plan and section(s) to propose an interior structural ordering system, detailed program distribution, and approach to the site topography. 3. Develop your building’s exterior form in a plan oblique drawing that emphasizes mass, materials, and infrastructural connections to its context. 4. Develop the interior systems of the student center by studying their constituent parts and the ways in which those parts can be aggregated, ending with a set of plans and a plan oblique drawing that show a coherent system within the activated spatial logic of your building

ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS

My chosen building was the North Hall dormitories at Woodbury University where the plans remain the same. The added programs are the classrooms, offices, study space and rooftop areas I have created. By looking at the plans, one can see how I added the programs as kind of webbing the "fingers" of the building together which creates a shared space. I added a new circulation of stairs that is encompassed in a steel structure.

OBLIQUE DRAWINGS & RENDERS

NEW exterior OBLIQUE.jpg

exterior

The exterior axonometric drawing shows the circulation that happens a top of the building/programs and how every part in inhabitable. I added little pop up greenery on the rooftop where some are accessible whereas others are taller and therefore is uninhabitable.

Supports the idea of greenery and rooftop gardens/terrain.

The interior axonometric drawing shows the circulation that happens a inside the added programs. By taking away the roof of my own added mass, one can see the space within and how it can be accessed.

Supports the idea of greenery and rooftop gardens/terrain.
